the essential
The USC second row (2.00 m; 125 kg) gives his view on his team, and gives some indications on his future as the dove club hosts Béziers, this Friday, November 15. Kick-off, in Michel-Bendichou, of this eleventh day of the French second division Championship: 7 p.m.

You played a lot at the start of the season (8 matches) and we know that it matters for guys like you. How do you feel?
Alright ! I should start again against Béziers, after having started in Brive. The first half was excellent but we let things slip away a little in the second. If we keep the same pace as in the first, against Béziers, it is certain that we will win.

Exactly, what happened between these two halves?
While we attacked and defended very well until then, we made some stupid mistakes in the second. We let them do it a little. The ball went behind and it scored. These were the open doors. But it allows us to come back even stronger against Béziers.

What kind of team is Béziers?
It's a very good team, which took part in the last final stages. Here, every match is very tough. Nothing should be taken lightly otherwise you will be surprised. We will play our best because Béziers will come to win. It's very close, if you lose two matches in a row, you find yourself at the bottom of the table. We must defend our territory.

You will be partnered with Jack Whetton (2.00m; 120kg). Difficult to make a stronger hitch…
(he smiles) Yes, this is the first time we are lined up together. We'll see how it goes. It's true that it's heavy. But it’s good all of a sudden!

You're coming to the end of a six-game long block. How are the organizations doing?
It's our job, but indeed, it takes a long time. Fortunately, we shorten the workouts, which is beneficial.

In your opinion, what is missing to reach the level that Brive had last week?
Our focus must be on the rucks. We don't clean the areas enough. We lost the ball too much against Brive. And without the ball, we can't win. We also saw that on the scrums and the touches, we still have work to do.

Your contract ends in June and you might be tempted to return to South Africa…
No, I want to stay in , 200%. I don't know yet where I will go, but it will be in France. I said it, it remains ambitious: ultimately I want to play in the Top 14.
