Pro D2. FCG: pillar Tommy Raynaud about to extend

How long were we going to see Tommy Raynaud in the red and blue jersey? This question, FCG supporters must have asked themselves last summer, when the left pillar arrived at the Lesdiguières stadium with the status of “medical joker”. This is how the FCG hired him, to compensate for the absence of several months of Eli Eglaine (wrist surgery).

Since then, Tommy Raynaud has played with the FCG, and rather well: six matches, including five as a starter, for 308 minutes, at the start of the 2024-2025 championship.

His first three months in Pro D2 with the FCG convinced the Isère leaders to keep him, beyond his contract, necessarily short-term, as a “medical joker”. This, even if Eli Eglaine, in the recovery phase, will soon resume competition.

Eglaine returns, but Raynaud will continue

According to our information, the FCG will keep Raynaud (originally from Mâcon) until the end of the season, at least, with the status of “additional player”.

And, given his experience (151 professional matches played with , his previous club, French Pro D2 champion in 2023) and his solidity in the position, on the front line, the leaders would like to keep Raynaud (30 years old, 1 .81 m, 110 kg) on a longer lease.

Negotiations between the two parties have begun in this direction and should soon lead to the signing of a new contract.
