the essential
This Saturday, a few hours after the Top 14 match between Toulouse and Montpellier, the winger/back of the “red and black” will be honored on the occasion of the inauguration of a stadium in his name. The player will be present for this very special occasion.
It was in Pont-de-Claix, a small town near Grenoble, that Ange Capuozzo, a player for Stade Toulousain, discovered rugby. This Saturday, September 21, nearly twenty years after touching his first oval balls on the pitch of the 2 Ponts complex, the winger/fullback will be honored in the most beautiful way.

In a press release, the municipality wrote: “Proud of the career of Ange Capuozzo, who maintains a strong attachment to the town, the city has decided to pay tribute to him by naming the stadium after him.” Ange Capuozzo played for five years with the US 2 Ponts club, before leaving for Grenoble, the city where he was born and where he launched his career as a professional rugby player.
The player present at the inauguration
In 2022, the Italian entered the big leagues by joining Stade Toulousain. His career took off. That same year, he saw his first cap with the Squadra Azzurra and was elected “World Rugby Revelation of the Year”.
