In the dream XV unveiled by François Cros, Antoine Dupont occupies a special place. “The best rugby player I have ever seen,” admits the Toulousain.
It’s a little game that is always fun, which François Cros played for the PlanetRugby website. The third-row player for Stade Toulousain and the French XV revealed his dream XV by picking from among the players who were his teammates and opponents.
For the back line, the Tricolore has composed a nice mix, with five players from five different countries: Beauden Barrett (New Zealand), Garry Ringrose (Ireland), Pita Ahki (Tonga), Cheslin Kolbe (South Africa) and Damian Penaud (France). “Like Barrett, a man who can turn things around. I’m grateful to be playing in the same international team!” explains Cros about his teammate with the Blues.
For the hinge, on the other hand, it will be 100% Toulouse with Romain Ntamack (“I couldn’t choose anyone else. He has few weaknesses and it’s an honour to play both Test matches and the league with him.”) and of course Antoine Dupont. “The best rugby player I have ever seen, without a doubt. Beautiful tribute to Thierry Dusautoir
In his position, in the third row, François Cros opts, in addition to Ardie Savea (New Zealand) and Josh van der Flier (Ireland), for Thierry Dusautoir. “My hero and mentor since my debut in Toulouse and in France. It’s an honour to wear his jersey number for club and country and it’s a responsibility that I take very seriously.”explains the French international.
The forward pack is completed by two other players from the French XV, second-row Emmanuel Meafou and hooker Julien Marchand. Eben Etzebeth (South Africa), Charlie Faumuina (Samoa) and Andrew Porter (Ireland) also make up this cosmopolitan XV, which looks great.
