Elton John is doing better. On Instagram this Tuesday, September 3, the British singer, who retired from the stage at the beginning of July 2023, revealed that he suffered a “serious eye infection during the summer which unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye.”
In a post widely shared by his fans, Elton John explains that he is healing but this “process is very slow”. “I am healing (…) but it will take time before the sight returns to the affected eye”.
Elton John also thanks “the excellent team of doctors and nurses as well as his family” who “have taken care of him these last weeks”. Optimistic, the artist says he is “confident” about his treatment.
Farewell tour in 2023
Elton John bid farewell to the public in July 2023 at an emotional concert in Stockholm, Sweden. Named Farewell Yellow Brick Roadthe singer’s last tour Rocket Man began in 2018 and was originally scheduled to run for three years, with more than 300 dates scheduled. But it was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, a hip operation in 2021 and a positive Covid test in 2022.
