Joe Biden wants to put kyiv “in the best possible position to win”

The United States is “committed to putting Ukraine in the best possible position to prevail,” White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Saturday. The senior U.S. official also said delays in the delivery of crucial military aid are simply due to “difficult logistics.”

Washington is assuring kyiv of its support a few months before the end of Joe Biden’s term. The United States is “determined to put Ukraine in the best possible position to prevail,” White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said on Saturday, September 14.

Participating via videoconference in the Yalta European Strategy forum held in kyiv, the senior American official assured that President Joe Biden, who will meet his Ukrainian counterpart at the end of September during the UN General Assembly in New York, “is determined to use the last four months (of his mandate) to put Ukraine in the best possible position to win.”

While Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian leaders continue to denounce the delays in Western military aid, particularly from the United States, Jake Sullivan assured that this problem was due to difficult logistics and not to a lack of political will to support kyiv.
