Samsung Electronics has unveiled its new line of ultra short throw projectors The Premiere 9 and The Premiere 7, designed to deliver an immersive cinema experience at home. Featuring a new AI chip, they promise even better images than previous models up to 130 inches.
The South Korean giant is renewing its range of ultra-short throw video projectors with laser source. The Premiere 9 model, the highest of the range, uses a triple laser system for increased color accuracy and brightness. According to the brand, it offers an impressive 154% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut, while The Premiere 7 reaches 100%. Both models are HDR10+ compatible and deliver vibrant images even in bright environments.
With a maximum brightness of 3450 Lumens ISO for the The Premiere 9 2024 (compared to 2800 Lumens for the previous version SP-LSP9T which you can read our full review) and 2500 Lumens ISO for the The Premiere 7 2024 (compared to 2200 Lumens for the old version SP-SP7T which you can read our full review), these projectors promise dynamic and contrasting visuals.
Smart features to optimize the image
For these new models, Samsung has integrated image enhancement technologies based on artificial intelligence. AI Upscaling allows any content to be displayed with Ultra HD 4K definition, regardless of its original quality. So we are not talking about a native Ultra HD 4K matrix here. For its part, the new Vision Booster technology automatically adjusts brightness and contrast according to ambient lighting conditions.
To complete the visual experience, The Premiere projectors integrate high-performance audio systems. The 9 model is equipped with a 2.2.2 channel 40W system with two upward-firing speakers (compared to 4.2 channels on the previous model), while the 7 model has a 2.2 channel 30W system (like the previous one). Both devices are compatible with the Dolby Atmos format.
A complete entertainment platform
Like the brand’s TVs, the new The Premiere runs on the Samsung Tizen OS Home operating system. This gives access to a wide range of streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube or Amazon Prime Video, for example. The Custom Ambient function even allows you to project personalized decorations when the projector is not being used to view content. Both models should thus benefit from 7 years of system updates.
Design-wise, there is no major revolution since it is almost impossible to distinguish the old versions from the new ones, except that the latter seem to have a more rounded front. They are therefore presented with minimalist lines with a front part still covered by Kvadrat fabric. They only require 25 cm of space for a 130-inch image (120 inches maximum for The Premiere 7).

The Samsung The Premiere 9 2024 will be available from September 5th at a price of 6,799 euros, while the The Premiere 7 2024 will be offered at 3,799 euros. They will undoubtedly be particularly highlighted on the brand’s stand at the next IFA 2024 show which opens its doors on September 6th.
