Medical scandal: Neurosurgeon’s daughter drills hole in patient’s skull

During an emergency operation in Austria, a 13-year-old girl, the daughter of the neurosurgeon in charge, participated in the surgical operation by drilling a hole in a patient’s skull. The incident, which remained secret for months, has now come to light.

The patient’s lawyer has announced his intention to sue the entire medical team.

A 33-year-old Austrian man, the victim of a serious forestry accident, learned a startling detail several months after his surgical operation: a 13-year-old girl, the daughter of the neurosurgeon in charge of the operation, had actively participated in the operation!

As reported by the Kleine Zeitung, the patient learned in June from the media that the girl had drilled a hole in his skull herself.

Since then, the neurosurgeon concerned and another specialist doctor present have been dismissed without notice.

A question left unanswered

But a crucial question remains unanswered: why did no one intervene in the operating room when the teenager grabbed the drill? The reasons why this incident was covered up for several months remain unclear.

The patient’s lawyer has announced his intention to sue the entire medical team. He does not question the necessity of the operation itself, but denounces the participation of a minor in a surgical procedure.

Although the operation itself was completed without complications, the patient continues to suffer from the after-effects of his accident. The patient’s lawyer plans to seek damages.
