This Saturday June 17 must take place pride march or Gay Pride in Rennes. The slogan of the 2023 LGBTI+ pride march is: “LGBTI+ without borders, asylum for all”.
However, this morning police and the firefighters had to intervene to get a anti-LGBT banner of a construction crane.
Group of reconnaissance and intervention in perilous environment
The firefighters were called around 10 a.m. at the request of the Rennes police to take down the banner. On it we could read the words “Fuck LGBT”.
Five firefighters of group of reconnaissance and intervention in perilous environment (GRIMP) therefore climbed to take down the banner.
“I am outraged”
“Like many Rennes and Rennais, I am outraged by the homophobic and transphobic message displayed this morning, at the top of a crane, by a small identity group,” reacted the mayor of Rennes, Nathalie Appéré.
The march is supposed to start at 2 p.m., Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle.
