In 2025, Motörhead will mark half a century of rock history with a series of events, outings and tributes, while confirming that “Motörhead is for life and Lemmy forever”.

50 years of noise and power

Motörhead, one of the most emblematic groups of rock and metal, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025 with significant events and special outings throughout the year. Founded in 1975, the group remains a real legend, having sold more than 25 million albums and played in front of millions of fans around the world.

The group also had great success in 2024 with an unprecedented single, Lawmanwhich reached the top 10 in the United Kingdom. In parallel, Motörhead has accumulated more than 320 million streams worldwide, 20 million listeners on Spotify and more than 112 million views on YouTube.

Phil Campbell, guitarist of the group, said: “It’s incredible to know that our music continues to resonate as much with people. This music remains as vital and important as before, thanks to the unique energy it gives off. ”

The drummer Mikkey Dee adds: “The connection we have with our fans is like a family, and it’s great to see this family continue to grow. Motörhead has always represented the idea of ​​following its own path, and this philosophy continues to inspire. ”

Special vinyl editions and a statue in tribute to Lemmy

The celebrations will start on February 28 with limited editions in vinyl of legendary albums Overkill, Bomber et Ace Of Spades. These vinyls, engraved with half-tite and offered in special colors, will also include an exclusive poster.

On May 8, International Motörhead Day, a special moment will be devoted to Lemmy Kilmister, with the inauguration of a statue in his honor in his hometown of Stoke-on-Trent. The work, produced by the British sculptor Andy Edwards, will be a lasting tribute to the memory of Lemmy. Lemmy’s ashes will be placed in the monument by Phil Campbell, who will direct the celebrations.

Andy Edwards said: “Lemmy represents the original spirit and the power of rock’n’roll. I hope this statue will become a place of pilgrimage for fans around the world. ”

Motörhead manager, Todd singerman, added: “Lemmy stays with us, even ten years after his disappearance. It symbolizes honesty, integrity and rock’n’roll in its pure state. There is only one Lemmy, and the world continues to celebrate it loudly and proudly. ”

To give a taste of future celebrations, a version remastered in HD of the group’s first television performance in Top Of The Pops in 1978, with Louie, Louieis now available.
