A neighbor burst into their home in the middle of the night and stabbed them: a couple violently attacked in Montpellier

Violent knife attack, during the night of Saturday to Sunday January 19, in a residence in the La Chamberte district, west of Montpellier. At 4 a.m., a couple aged around thirty, according to our information, was injured in their home with several stab wounds by a neighbor.

He stabs them and returns home

The man, also believed to be in his thirties, allegedly tried to force his way into their apartment, until the victims finally opened the door. It was then that he stabbed them, before returning home.

Alerted, the police intervened in the building located on Route de Lavérune, and quickly arrested the perpetrator of violence, who does not have all his mental faculties. He is in custody at the police station this Sunday.

Vital prognosis not committed

The two victims were treated by emergency services and transported to the hospital, without their vital prognosis being compromised. They suffer from superficial injuries and should be able to be interviewed quickly by investigators in order to clarify the circumstances of the facts.

The police are working in particular to determine whether the attacker acted under the influence of his mental disorders or whether a dispute existed with his neighbors.
