Rabat-Salé-Kénitra: Launch of seven health centers to strengthen local services

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tehraoui, inaugurated this Friday the urban health center “El Wahda” in Rabat, as well as six other centers distributed in the prefectures and provinces of Rabat, Skhirat-Témara, Sidi Kacem and Sidi Slimane. This event is part of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, aiming for a profound and comprehensive reform of the health system to support the generalization of social and health coverage in Morocco.

The new centers include two first-level establishments in Rabat (“El Wahda” and “Inbiat”), two in Skhirat-Témara (“Nasr” and “Ouelad Zair”), a second-level rural health center in Sidi Kacem ( “Dar Guedari”) and two rural dispensaries in Sidi Slimane (“Chraouta” and “Touirsa”).

According to the regional director of Health and Social Protection, Noria Saidi, these establishments offer integrated management of chronic diseases, prevention, vaccination and awareness services, including mental health. Equipped with modern equipment and qualified medical staff, they strengthen the healthcare offering in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.

The commissioning of these centers is part of the royal vision aimed at promoting a national health sector meeting the growing needs of the population. In addition, it is part of a national plan for the rehabilitation and equipment of 1,400 health centers across the Kingdom.

These new establishments will benefit approximately 117,000 inhabitants of the region, offering varied services such as general consultations, monitoring of maternal and child health, management of chronic diseases, as well as nursing care and health educational programs. An integrated information system will enable optimal patient management through electronic medical records accessible regionally and nationally.
