El Hadji Ndane Diagne, general director of the National Oilseed Marketing Company of Senegal (Sonacos), expressed his satisfaction with the collection of peanuts in the decentralized station of Kolda. It was during a visit to Fouladou that Mr. Diagne spoke of the smooth running of the operation. “We came to Kolda at the Sonacos interim center and we found a very satisfactory situation with a good pace […] » he declared.
According to him, the objective for the Kolda region at the end of the campaign is to reach between 35,000 and 50,000 tonnes. In order to support producers, Sonacos is planning a strategy to guarantee the purchase of all the seeds harvested. He explains that the sector is well structured, with collection points allocated by the CNIA (National Interprofessional Peanut Committee) to the various operators on the ground, who will transport the seeds to Sonacos to purchase them directly on site.
-The details surrounding this peanut campaign were notably relayed on the Sud Quotidien website, offering a positive vision of the management of Sonacos in this region of Senegal. Organizational support for this collection seems well established, thus strengthening the peanut sector through a concerted and effective approach.
