The Lauberhorn races in Wengen open on Friday with the super-G, scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Leader of the discipline and the general classification of the World Cup, Marco Odermatt will start favorite.
The Nidwalden won the super-G in Wengen in 2022, organized for the first time in 28 years, and also reached the podium the following two years. He is aiming for a 14th World Cup success in the discipline.
The Norwegian Fredrik Möller, who won the last super-G in Bormio after two 4th places, promises to be his main opponent. Mattia Casse and Vincent Kriechmayr are also among the contenders for the podium, like the Bernese Franjo von Allmen or the Friborg Alexis Monney.
Loïc Meillard will line up for the second time this winter in the discipline after finishing 26th at Beaver Creek. The skier from Hérémence especially hopes to shine on Sunday in slalom, where he will be keen to redeem himself after his elimination in Adelboden.
