USA: annual inflation in line with expectations in December – 01/15/2025 at 2:39 p.m.

(AOF) – The American consumer price index increased by 2.9% in December, at an annual rate, in line with expectations, after 2.7% in November. The monthly increase is 0.4%, in line with the consensus after an increase of 0.3% the previous month. Core inflation, a measure monitored by the Fed, rose to 3.2% on an annual basis, against a consensus of 3.3%, and at 0.2% on a monthly basis, against 0.3% expected.
