APR official sends resignation letter

Cheikh Tidiane Gadio (not to be confused with the former Minister of Foreign Affairs under Wade from 2000 to 2009) is no longer the president of the Supervisory Board of the Local Development Agency. The head of the APR, in office for 12 years, has decided to resign, relays Les Échos.

The newspaper reports that he sent his letter of resignation to the head of state, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. “By decree number 2013-229 of February 7, 2013, President Macky Sall did me the honor of appointing me as head of the Supervisory Board of the Local Development Agency. It was a mark of trust that allowed me to serve my country Senegal for almost 12 years. For this, I would like to thank him from the bottom of my heart and show him my deep gratitude. That said, I hereby inform you of the resignation from the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Local Development Agency as of today,” he wrote.

Gadio clarified: “At the end of these years of good and loyal service, [je reste] at the disposal of my country for future battles and the major challenges to be taken up for the construction of an emerging Senegal.
