The Quéven media library is hosting the “Intemporel” exhibition by Michel Lebedel until Friday February 14, 2025.
Oyster farming employee, Quimperlois Michel Le Bededel takes three months a year to immerse himself in the world of photography, particularly that of wet silver collodion.
An ancient technique
“Wet collodion is an old technique from 1851 based on cellulose nitro which is fixed on a glass plate which will be the support for the silver nitrate. The image appears to the developer,” says the photographer.
Michel Lebedel took up photography again in 2007. “I didn’t like digital, I switched to film and discovered collodion. I was fascinated by the image, the rendering during a discovery course,” he says. Since then, the enthusiast has passed on his know-how through exhibitions and workshops. One will take place on Saturday February 1st at the media library, upon registration (€15 contribution), to be photographed as at the time of the Conquest of the West.
