The actress Kim Yaroshevskaya, known for having played Fanfreluche and Grand-Mère in Pass-Partoutdied at the age of 101.
Her death was confirmed by the Union of Artists and relatives of the actress.
Born on 1is October 1923 in Russia, she moved to Quebec at the age of 10. An artist from a young age, she pursued her passion for theater.
In the 1950s, with her theater troupe Le Grenier, she created the famous character of the Fanfreluche doll. She will subsequently play him on - in the television shows Fafouin, The surprise box et Fanfreluchetelling “a beautiful tale in its own way.” The show Fanfreluche was launched in 1968; 46 episodes were broadcast until 1971.
In 1977, the actress found a character who rocked a new generation of toddlers thanks to the cult show Pass-Partoutin which she played the role of Grandmother for 10 years, alongside Passe-Montagne, Passe-Carreau and Passe-Partout.
She also starred in numerous soap operas, including Banana peel et Ent’Cadieux.
The Union of Artists praised his work. “Kim Yaroshevskaya, who embellished the lives of several generations of young and old children, has left us,” it says. Many will have been marked by his interpretation of Fanfreluche or Grand-Mère in Pass-Partout.»

The news, first reported by -, the channel on which the show Fanfreluche was broadcast between 1968 and 1971, aroused strong reactions from cultural and political circles.

Ms. Yaroshevskaya, born in Moscow on October 1, 1923, immigrated to Quebec to join her aunt in the 1930s, following the imprisonment of her father and the death of her mother, who were communist revolutionaries.
She studied at the École des Beaux-arts in Montreal in the 1940s and quickly learned French.
In the 1950s, she joined the theater troupe Le Grenier, where she created the famous character of Fanfreluche, who made several appearances on the small screen over the next 15 years.
Kim Yaroshevskaya also played the role of Grandmother in the legendary youth series Pass-Partout between 1977 and 1987.
She has been a recipient of the Order of Canada since 1991.
In 2017, she published her biography, entitled My trip to America.
