In November 2024, production rebounded significantly in the manufacture of transport equipment (+3.8% after -2.6%): it recovered in the automobile industry (+5.8% after -3, 4%) and in the manufacture of other transport equipment (+2.6% after -2.1%), details the same source.
It remained almost stable in the extractive industries, energy, water (+0.1% after -1%) and in coking and refining (+0.1% after +4.7%). It remained stable in the manufacture of “other industrial products” (after -0.2% in October), it is specified.
In contrast, production fell again in the agro-food industries (-0.7% after -0.4%) and fell back in the manufacture of capital goods (-0.7% after +1.5%).
Over the three months from September to November, industrial production fell by 0.9% compared to the same three months of 2023, and manufacturing production alone by 1.4%.
Over this period, production was down sharply in the manufacture of transport equipment (-5.3%): it fell sharply in the automobile industry (-13.4%) but increased slightly in the manufacture of other transport equipment (+0.4%).
Production also fell in the manufacturing of capital goods (‑3.1%), the manufacturing of “other industrial products” (‑0.8%) and coking and refining (‑0.9%) , according to INSEE.
Conversely, it was increasing in the extractive industries, energy, water (+1.7%) and the agri-food industries (+1%).
