Me Pape Mor Niang announces that his clients have cashed the check for 25 million CFA francs. Amount allocated to them as part of the court decision relating to the Ndiaga Diouf case. Les Échos, which relays the information, recalls that the black dress was stepped up after the announcement, on December 12, by Barthélémy Dias’s lawyers, of the delivery of the said check. “It’s true that I received the check, but I haven’t discussed it with the family yet. It must be said that it is a check that I have not yet deposited to find out its solvency,” Mr. Niang clarified. Taken up by the newspaper, he emphasizes that the check is solvent. “It was a communication stunt because the family of the late Ndiaga Diouf could not understand the process and they were starting to put pressure,” he explained. “Due to his current financial constraints, Barthélémy Dias was not able to pay this amount by himself,” maintained his communication unit, informing that the amount was “entirely” covered by his sister.
