Matignon confirms that there is no “emergency” to receive the farmers of the Rural Coordination who began an operation since Sunday January 5 to block or the Rungis international market. The Prime Minister is “in line with what the minister said [de l’Agriculture] Annie Genevard”François Bayrou's entourage informed Franceinfo's political service on Monday January 6.

Monday morning, the Minister of Agriculture estimated on TF1 that “the urgency they are putting forward to be received now is not really justified”recalling that the Prime Minister has planned a meeting with all the agricultural unions, Monday January 13, in a week.

François Bayrou's entourage specifies that this meeting will aim to “take stock of the different subjects and how to waste as little time as possible following the censorship of the Barnier government”.

Censorship stopped the implementation of crucial measures for farmers planned in the 2025 draft budget and in that of social security (PLFSS). Among the pending measures: an agricultural budget of 400 million euros, favorable taxation on non-road diesel, aid for seasonal workers and a new calculation method for agricultural pensions.
