In front of an audience of guests made up of academics, diplomats, religious luminaries among others, the Network of Women Leaders around Thierno Amadou Ba (REFLET), celebrated its second anniversary this Saturday, December 21. Indeed, “Female leadership in education: the educational role of women in a changing society” is the theme chosen for this year's celebration.
The packed UCAD2 conference room vibrated to the rhythm of awareness-raising and unifying speeches for the benefit of Senegalese women. According to the president of REFLET, to achieve its objective, this Network, which has representations in several regions around the world, is based on a clear principle: “fostering the social development of women, encouraging female entrepreneurship, facilitating “access to finance for women, promote women’s empowerment”. “Two years ago today, to the day, the Network of Women Leaders around Thierno Amadou Ba was founded. Since its creation, REFLET has become a well-structured organization, bringing together women committed and active in the development of their community, their business and their group.
These women stand out for their active participation in building development in general and for their commitment to improving the socio-economic conditions of women in particular. REFLET is thus a framework for reflection and exchange on the economic and social future of women in an increasingly selective world. It promotes the culture of excellence in order to enable women to reach and maintain the highest levels of responsibility. The members of the network are present in several regions of the world, thus breaking geographical and brotherhood borders. But its success would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our visionary. A man whose multiple talents and his dedication to the development of women make him a reference, the Caliph of Bambilor. Thierno, your efforts are immeasurable and we thank you very sincerely for the constant support you give to REFLET,” explained Adja Binta Ndiaye, President of REFLET.
For his part, Thierno Amadou Ba thanked the guests, the godfather and godmother for the values they embody as well as the speakers, the university authorities but also the Central African delegation who came to request assistance and prayers from him for the return of good values and peace to their country. “I am delighted with the presence of everyone here in this large conference room at UCAD2. Dear godfather and dear godmother, dear speakers, you are monuments and a source of inspiration. Through your teachings and the way you approached the theme here today, this is a first in this temple of knowledge. You took all your time to devote it to your messages which are relevant, poignant and educational, from which all women should be inspired to be models in today's rapidly changing society. This is why, on behalf of the women of the Network, I would like to solemnly ask my friend and my sister, Minister Ngoné Ndoye, to be the honorary president of REFLET, such is the wish of these women. You made it this day madam Allah. We have heard the cries of the heart of our Central African guests, mother Rosalie and the rest of the delegation, know that we have set up religious diplomacy in the Central African Republic, we have contacted the imams, the bishops, we are going to work on it so that even if we do not have the entire Senegalese prototype, we will have something that will allow you to live in peace, solidarity and social cohesion,” said the Caliph General of Bambilor, Thierno Amadou Ba.
Note that this Network, open to all women who adhere to the values of ethics, morality, virtue and who share the vision of improving the status of women in all its dimensions, both family and professional, had as sponsor for this edition, Amadou François Gaye, general director of Senegalese Abroad and as godmother, Awa Diop Ndiaye. In an educational approach, the speakers, Professor Ben Omar Ndiaye, teacher researcher at Ucad, the former Minister of Senegalese Abroad, Ngoné Ndoye and Oustaz Idrissa Gaye de Thiés, Islamalogist, were able, in their presentations, to hold captivate the audience with their teachings and high-quality speeches through communications based on respect, tolerance and solidarity in society. Women were also made aware of waste and excessive spending during family ceremonies.
