Audi Brussels: workers’ compensation, “the offer is too low”, for the FGTB

After several months of consultation between workers, unions and management of Audi Forest, the negotiations are coming to an end. Management decided to individualize discussions. To talk about it, Grégory Dascotte, permanent secretary at the FGTB, was the guest of Bonjour Bruxelles.

From January, Audi Brussels workers will each receive their compensation statement, and will be free to accept it or not. “For us, the difficulty was knowing if it was enough. When we compare with 2006, and given the current economic context, the offer is too low, but it will be up to family workers to make the decision”says Grégory Dascotte.

During the last conciliation, the unions discovered that a category of workers had been excluded from compensation: long-term sick people. A legal appeal will be filed. “It’s discrimination.”

Despite this unilateral decision on the part of management, workers will demonstrate this Monday. “We want to bring the workers together, explain the situation and show Audi customers that behind their cars, there are workers who are sometimes mistreated.”
