Four months ago, a gang of thugs robbed a home in Guercif to steal a safe containing a small fortune. Two of its members have just been arrested.
Four months after the burglary of a home located in Guercif during which the thugs stole a safe containing the sum of 400 thousand dirhams and gold jewelry, elements of the judicial police recently arrived to pull the case cleared up by arresting two members of the gang. Other members who have been identified are still on the run and actively sought, we learn from a judicial source. One of the two thugs put behind bars, who appears to be a repeat offender, was arrested in Guercif while the other was nabbed in Khouribga.
Indeed, the case dates back to the night of Monday to Tuesday, August 5 to 6 of the current year when the owner of a home located in the Brahim subdivision overlooking Moulouya Boulevard, in the center of the town of Guercif, came returning from a trip of a few days.
While examining his home, he noticed the disappearance of his safe which was in his bedroom. It contained a sum of 400 thousand dirhams and gold jewelry. Alerted, security sleuths in Guercif rushed to the scene and began the necessary investigations. Examination of the video surveillance installed in the four corners of the home as well as those of other residential or commercial premises yielded nothing. The burglars had taken precautions, they wore balaclavas. It seems that they are professionals because they also left no trace at the crime scene that would allow investigators to take them and examine them scientifically.
This is why the investigators used technology which allowed them to follow the telephone conversations made by the members of the gang during the operation to identify the one who lives in Khouribga and arrest him before arrest the one who lives in Guercif.
The investigation revealed that the members of this gang transported the safe in a car to drive it towards Khouribga. In the home of one of them, they managed to open it using a spanner.
The two members of this gang were brought before the general prosecutor’s office at the Taza Court of Appeal, which kept them in preventive detention.
