The “Christmas run” walking race will take place this Saturday, December 14, in the heart of Lausanne. Some traffic and parking restrictions will be put in place in the city center to ensure that this event takes place in the best conditions.
This year, the “Christmas run” will take place over a single evening, Saturday December 14. It will welcome several thousand athletes. Due to the work on Place de la Riponne, the race will start on Place de l’Europe. The first departure will take place at 6:30 p.m. The route of the large loop will pass through rue Centrale, Pépinet, place Saint-François, rue de Bourg, Caroline, the Bessières bridge, rue Curtat, avenue Menthon, Place de la Cathedrale, rue Curtat, rue de la Mercerie, place de la Palud, rue de la Madeleine, place de la Riponne sud, streets Haldimand, Pichard, Grand-Saint-Jean, Place Pépinet and Rue Centrale. The arrival is planned under the Grand-Pont.
Saturday, between 3 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., traffic will be prohibited on rue Centrale (between place de l’Europe and the roundabout located under the Bessières bridge), place de l’Europe, rue Pierre Viret, rue Curtat, as well as on the lower part of rue Caroline, downhill lane. Parking restrictions will also be introduced in the racing area. All city center car parks will be accessible.
