“It is a particularly courageous, responsible and transparent budget, made up of assumed choices and resulting from substantial efforts, including those made by our parliament,” continued Philippe Dodrimont for the MR.
Earlier in the day, the opposition had reiterated all the bad things it thinks about the budget presented by the MR-Engagés government. “Reading the documents, and listening to your presentation, the fears that we expressed last July are still there, intact. They are even reinforced. And the fog that was supposed to lift remains thick,” lamented the leader of the socialist group, Christie Morreale.
“The fog is partly lifting for 2025 but the sky is darkening and our concerns are finding their full realization, or even worse,” added Ecolo leader Stéphane Hazée.
As for the PTB, it once again condemned “the lies” of the majority “which will force other levels of power to raise taxes for it” and denounced the “strategy of fear” put in place by the government.
