The press conference of Public prosecutor was eagerly awaited, Monday afternoon, at court of Saint-Brieuc. It took place a week, to the day, after the disappearance of Morgane Rivoal, Monday November 25 at Pabuon the path which would lead her to her Camus college in Graces.

1 – An intriguing word on crumpled paper

In front of an audience of microphones and cameras, the Public Prosecutor, Nicolas Heitz, first indicated that, according to the parents' testimony, “their daughter never ran away, nor expressed suicidal intentions”.

However, he quickly indicated that “a crumpled paper was found by the gendarmes in his basket where it was indicated: dad, mom, sorry I'm leaving« .

The prosecutor underlined the existence of “disputes” within the family, between the 13-year-old girl and her parents: “They always had their source in the excessive use of her cell phone and networks social services by Morgane”.

2 – Disturbing contacts on social networks

These internet exchange platforms were at the heart of the investigation this week. Because, according to the prosecutor, “Morgane may have been led to enter into relationships with older individuals, some of whom she met on social networks and not all of whom live in the department or region.”

The prosecutor assures that these people were all interviewed and their homes searched, but that none of these hearings provided relevant information on the location of the teenager.

Nicolas Heitz reveals certain details on this subject: “A 21-year-old man residing in Drôme was notably identified as having created a Snapchat account for the benefit of Morgane. The latter was the only user of the account created for Morgane. The search of her cell phone revealed several images of child pornography that did not concern Morgane. He was incidentally placed in police custody, a measure handled by the territorially competent public prosecutor's office. Another 29-year-old man living in Eure got to know Morgane through social networks. The checks carried out did not provide any conclusive evidence regarding this avenue. »

3 – Two phones being analyzed

However, the research does not stop there since Morgane's two mobile phones (the one that was broken during a family argument and her previous device) were urgently taken to the Criminal Research Institute of the Gendarmerie Nationale (IRCGN), in Pontoise, for in-depth exploitation.

The Côtes d'Armor gendarmerie group also uses other digital media seized from the family home.

4 – No connection since his disappearance

Since her disappearance, however, no trace of Morgane on social networks: “No connection on Morgane's part has been found, based on research, since last Monday, November 25,” comments the prosecutor.

5 – A “harmonious” relationship with your family

If the “too much” use of the telephone and social networks could be a source of conflict between Morgane and her parents, the latter also describe, according to the prosecutor, “a harmonious relationship with their eldest daughter and a family life that 'we can describe it as normal, or classic'.

Her brother and sister, her grandparents and her family describe her “as a happy, joyful and smiling child,” explains the prosecutor.

Her classmates also described her as “kind, discreet and reserved, even shy,” according to investigators. Even if some have also “noted a certain sadness in her”.

6 – A certain discomfort and a possibility of harassment

Prosecutor Nicolas Heitz also indicated that “it sometimes appeared that Morgane may have made worrying comments and could experience real discomfort. Some of her comrades having mentioned scarifications that she would have inflicted on herself.

According to other testimonies, she also “could have been the victim of harassment last year”.

7 – Open judicial information

Many avenues are still to be explored by the gendarmes. “Given the importance of the work to be continued, I have decided to open a judicial investigation and therefore to refer this afternoon to an investigating judge to investigate the causes of Morgane's disappearance,” announced Stéphane Heitz. The prosecutor and the gendarmes are determined: “No one will let down their guard to find Morgane”.
