En response to a question about “the strike bill” in the House of Representatives, Sekkouri reiterated the government’s commitment to interact constructively with the amendments presented by the parliamentary groups and deputies, and whose number reached around 330 amendments, calling, in this sense, for action common with a view to concretizing all the amendments and proposals on the ground.
In this sense, he called for the need for the implementation of collective intelligence in order to realize these provisions according to the three priorities contained in the speech of King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the opening of the first session of the 5th legislative year of the 9th legislature, relating to the protection of the working class “considered the weak link in the equation”, protection of the national production chain “who respects the law” and protection of the health and safety of citizens “through the guarantee of public service and the smooth running of vital services”.
The government, he noted, will respond during the meeting of the Social Sectors Committee, scheduled for Tuesday for the examination and vote of the bill, to a number of fundamental demands and modifications, including “the repeal of the provision prohibiting political strikes”, “the repeal of the provision prohibiting alternating strikes” et “removal of the ban on solidarity strikes”in addition to others also relating to the protection of freedom of work and the abolition of criminal penalties.
