Continuation of the series, AFP having learned that the Real striker refers PSG to the Professional Football League for “failure to pay bonuses and salaries”.
Return to the LFP box for the conflict between Kylian Mbappé and PSG. As AFP learned, the 25-year-old contacted the Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP) to “failure to pay bonuses and salaries“. The hearing will take place on December 11.
One more episode, not the first… and certainly not the last. Remember that Mbappé is claiming €55 million from his former employer, while the capital club believes it is within its rights by having withheld these bonuses and salaries in the second part of the 2023-24 season, the last of the 2018 world champion on the banks of the Seine. And this due to an agreement that the two parties would have reached during the player's reintegration into the first team, in the summer of 2023. Except that said agreement was never confirmed by an amendment. The Mbappé clan therefore simply relies on labor law, while PSG believes “the player has made clear and repeated public and private commitments in law and in fact“, making this never-ending affair “a question of good faith, honesty, maintaining values and respect for the Parisian institution and its supporters».
Labor law
So far, the LFP legal commission has ruled in favor of Mbappé – after proposing mediation, refused by the player, to both parties – on September 11. Decision confirmed on October 25 by the joint appeals committee. The French Football Federation (FFF) also rejected a request from the club on November 22, the body specifying that it had “notin any way pronounced on the merits of the dispute. No federal injunction was therefore issued. The FFF legal department simply noted that the request for federal evocation of the file, which it had received, did not meet the required conditions.“, we learned in a press release from the “fédé”.
If it has provisioned the sum initially owed to Kylian Mbappé in its budget, PSG has no intention of paying. From a source close to the club, it is still believed that the industrial tribunal is the only one authorized to resolve this conflict and able to hear the arguments of Paris-SG.
