People who are eligible for the public health insurance plan will be able to consult a doctor without problem even if their card has expired, confirms the Régie de l’assurance santé du Québec (RAMQ).
A person who does not have a valid card and who must consult a doctor can contact the RAMQ who will send a registration certificate by fax to the health care establishment visited.
The RAMQ reminds that the health insurance card is valid until the last day of the month of expiration and that the renewal process begins 90 days before the expiry date.
And what about the SAAQ?
The Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) ensures that the province’s police forces have been informed of the repercussions of a strike at Canada Post on its services.
If your driver’s license has expired and you have not received your new card, keep the old one as proof of identity.
And for the license plates, they will be sent once the Canada Post strike is over. Until then, keep the temporary plate, which is normally valid for 45 days.
For more information, consult the RAMQ and SAAQ websites.
