During a meeting with the unions of the La Poste Group – notably the SNTPT, SYNAP and SYNAPOSTE – Alioune Sall, Minister of Communication, Telecommunications and Digital, addressed the current challenges and prospects of the postal sector. He reaffirmed the State’s commitment to guarantee regular salary payments from next year, an essential initiative to stabilize agents and ensure the continuity of public services.
Furthermore, our source informs us, the minister announced the establishment of a sustainable framework to remunerate the provision of public services, while maintaining their accessibility. This framework is part of a logic of perpetuating the activities of SN La Poste.
During an intervention on RTS1, Alioune Sall had already mentioned the structural challenges of the company, which currently employs 3,500 agents, while it should operate with a workforce of 2,000 agents maximum. This situation weighs heavily on the wage bill, estimated at 18 billion FCFA per year.
For 2025, the minister defined several strategic priorities: financial stabilization of the group, digitalization of services, strengthening of organizational structures and development of agent skills. He also underlined the crucial role of La Poste in the economic and social development of Senegal, inviting the social partners to engage in constructive dialogue, to support essential reforms.
This ambitious plan marks a key step in revitalizing SN La Poste and strengthening its strategic role in the country.
