No pardon for Hunter Biden
Joe Biden, who must give way to the president-elect on January 20, wanted to end on a “serious tone”for his last speech of this kind. “Let me tell you this has been the honor of my life, I am forever grateful”declared the Democrat, who had given up on running at the end of July, after a disastrous electoral debate against Donald Trump.
As the end of his term approaches, Joe Biden will now consider other types of pardons, which a president generally grants to convicts before leaving the White House. However, he has already assured that it is one that he would not grant to his son Hunter Biden, who was convicted in June of illegal possession of a firearm against a backdrop of crack addiction, and who pleaded guilty in September in a tax fraud case.
Hunter Biden, whose young son Beau was present at Monday's ceremony, is still waiting to find out what sentence he will receive in each of these cases.
