“We won!” »Explosion of joy among the Socialists and Greens gathered on Sunday at the Town Hall. It’s noon and “Zero ads” goes to 51.12% (while waiting for the full results, read below). Commercial advertising should therefore be prohibited in the public space of the municipality. “Despite a fallacious campaign by our opponents, it was the values that won and the population did not let themselves be fooled,” rejoices Matthieu Jotterand, president of PS Lancy.
12h12
Lancy says for the moment yes to the ban on advertising in the public domain. But the score (51%) is very close and we will have to wait for the complete count to confirm the result of the vote.
12h11
The people of Geneva do not want to give plot owners the right to trigger a referendum without collecting signatures. The counter-proposal proposing this change was sharply rejected, with 62% saying no for the moment.
12h08
The Mont-Blanc pedestrian bridge is about to fail. The provisional results (only the City of Geneva voted) give 53% for no. A new failure for major projects in the City, after the MAH and the Cité de la Musique. Cohabitation between pedestrians, cyclists and cars will not improve any time soon on this axis.
12h06
The Genevans want to keep control of TPG prices. The proposal to let the Council of State decide clearly fails: almost 70% no. It will always be necessary to go through the law to change prices.
12h05
With more than 61% yes (out of 95% of ballots), the reduction in income taxes is widely accepted. A victory for the right-wing majority of the Council of State and the big money maker Nathalie Fontanet.
12h02
The first provisional results have been released, based on postal votes: for the moment, Geneva says yes to the tax cut and the City says no to the Mont-Blanc footbridge.
