Porsche 911 Dakar, here is the last example of the series, it is colorful

Porsche has just completed production of its 911 Dakar. The series limited to 2,500 units is closed with a unique example entrusted to the Sonderwunsch division (special request) of the brand. The underlying idea of this ultimate “Dakar” is to pay homage to the victorious racing car in the sands of the rally in 1984 with driver René Metge at the wheel assisted by Dominique Lemoyne.

A not very discreet livery

If the color cut between a light shade in the upper part contrasting with a dark lacquer in the lower part in the manner of the livery in the colors of the tobacco company Rothmans historical sponsor, the palette is revised in depth. For the record, it is a signal yellow associated with a metallic gentian blue, all delimited by a bright blue border close to primary cyan.

And as if that wasn’t enough to not go unnoticed, the lucky owner of the car asked the brand to paint the rim cover yellow and the edge blue. Yellow is also present but in subtle touches in the cabin.

Cosmetic changes but not mechanical

The vehicle, the price of which will remain secret, and in any case significantly higher than €226,689 (before adding the penalty of €60,000 to us) is currently visible since it is on display at the Porsche museum in Stuttgart before the keys are handed over. to the customer.

If the plumage of this latest 911 Dakar is clearly distinguishable from that of the rest of the series, on the other hand its mechanical innards do not stand out at all.. It also contains a strong 473 hp 3-liter twin-turbo flat-6 cylinder engine connected to all-wheel drive via the 8-speed PDK gearbox.
