Convinced that an appeal would only add legal costs, the offender decided to pay the fine, but she contacted the municipality hoping for a gesture.
“That day, it was raining heavily and after seeing that the collector was full, and that there were already other boxes deposited, I thought I was doing the right thing by depositing mine,” she wrote. “I would like to apologize greatly,” added this mother of two children, specifying that she understood afterwards that “the cardboard must have become completely wet and that I should not have left it”.
In the eyes of the authorities, any dumping outside the containers “is tantamount to dumping waste on the public highway, which cannot be allowed.” “I admit my fault, but the amount of 610 francs seems excessive to me,” continues the citizen. She asks for leniency and promises that “this won’t happen again.”
Her request of October 25 remained unanswered, but in a pilot municipality in waste management, the offender places her hopes in the next meeting of the Municipal Council: “I did not throw away my boxes: I aligned them well .
