During this mission, Mr. Bathily attended a strategic presentation of APIM, discovering its innovative services to support investors. A visit to the Single Window allowed us to appreciate the solutions proposed, to simplify and speed up administrative procedures. The CEO of Apix also met the Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as the Minister of Mines and Industry, with whom he discussed structuring projects and partnership opportunities between the two countries.
Furthermore, a fruitful dialogue with the National Union of Mauritanian Employers made it possible to explore the possibilities of joint ventures between the economic actors of the two countries, with a view to sustainable co-development. Field visits, notably to the Nouakchott Container Terminal (TCN) and to SEPCO Industries, highlighted the importance of the involvement of the national private sector and the integration of local content in oil and gas projects.
This mission also made it possible to lay the foundations for strengthened collaboration between APIM and APIX. Among the concrete perspectives are the development of a common roadmap to structure bilateral initiatives, the creation of a pipeline of ambitious projects for 2025, in strategic sectors such as mining, energy, industry and tourism, as well as the preparation of the next Mauritania-Senegal Forum, which will be held under the aegis of the Heads of State of the two countries.
As a reminder, the first forum was held last month in Dakar. The rapprochement of the Mauritanian and Senegalese private sectors was highlighted as an essential lever for creating innovative partnerships, responding to regional challenges and opportunities.
« We must strengthen trust and collaboration between our companies to build a common future based on co-development and value creation », declared Mr. Bakary Séga Bathily. Ms. Aïssata Lam, for her part, underlined: “ Mauritania and Senegal have complementary assets which, combined, can pave the way for inclusive and sustainable growth ».
APIX warmly thanks Mauritania for its fraternal welcome and the quality of the exchanges, which contributed to making this mission a real success.
