A second Moroccan convoy arrives in Valencia

Morocco is continuing its aid efforts to Spain after the serious floods which affected the country. A second Moroccan humanitarian convoy, made up of 13 trucks, arrived this weekend in Valencia to support reconstruction efforts

According to the EFE news agency, this new deployment, which includes 34 operators equipped with advanced technical equipment to facilitate access to affected areas, is in addition to a first convoy.

As a reminder, Morocco sent, on November 13, a convoy of 25 fire trucks from the north of the country to provide assistance to Spain.

In total, the Kingdom has sent a total of 105 workers and trucks since its support began. This initiative is part of the Very High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Minister of the Interior, who contacted his Spanish counterpart to offer Moroccan assistance after the floods caused by storm Dana, which devastated several Spanish regions. The first convoy focused on helping the Valencia region, one of the most affected.

For its part, Portugal deployed 100 technicians and soldiers, as well as pumping machines and excavators. has made 40 firefighters and soldiers available, as well as heavy equipment and specialized transport vehicles. In total, more than 250 international support staff are working on the cleanup and reconstruction.

With this reinforcement, Spain now has 130 trucks intended to extract the sludge and waste accumulated in the sewers and streets of the affected municipalities.

The President of the Port of Motril, José García Fuentes, highlighted the importance of port collaboration in emergency situations, highlighting the logistical capacity of ports to offer solutions to society in complex times.
