Anger of farmers: actions planned in Haute- this week of November 18

Almost the same speech, whatever the union: “no or little progress”, “we have had nothing”, “we need concrete things”. Eight months after last winter's protests, farmers are still angry and want to make it known. The calls for mobilization made at the national level will resonate well in Haute- this week of November 18. Here are the first meetings to follow…

Monday November 18

After having “kidnapped” the signs from the municipalities in recent days, FDSEA de la Haute-Vienne and Young Farmers (JA) will mobilize this Monday, November 18.

According to a press release sent this Friday, November 15, it is planned for this Monday: a tasting of local meat at Place Denis-Dussoubs in from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to “highlight local production while warning of the threats that would weigh the Mercosur agreement on our agriculture.

On Facebook, FDSEA and JA also meet at 3 p.m. at “meeting points with tarpaulins, stakes and decorations to decorate the roundabouts”: Aixe-sur-Vienne roundabout, La roundabout Valoine (Limoges/Feytiat), Les Rivailles in Panazol and D2000 roundabout.

Then, from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., the farmers will go to the prefecture to “deposit and return all the “kidnapped” communal signs”. The mayors of the municipalities concerned are invited to come and collect them as a sign of support for the agricultural world: “Their presence would mark a strong gesture of solidarity towards farmers and the problems they denounce. »

Finally, at 7:45 p.m., braziers, “symbols of the “fires of anger””, will be lit.

“There has been no progress on simplification, no progress on the PLOA (Pact and law on agricultural orientation and future, editor’s note)no progress on the budget. We're wasting time, we're not really making progress on everything. These are the same subjects as the month of January and in addition, there is this Mercosur,” says Boris Bulan, president of the FDSEA of Haute-Vienne.

Tuesday November 19

It has been around ten days since the Haute-Vienne Rural Coordination warned: “We call on all farmers to update themselves on their farms, to finish sowing and to mobilize before the prefecture of Limoges: next Tuesday, November 19 to demand a final boost from the Government! “.

This Tuesday morning, November 19, three convoys will therefore converge towards the Haute-Vienne prefecture in Limoges where the appointment is given for 10:30 a.m., according to Thomas Hégarty, the president of the Haute-Vienne Rural Coordination, contacted this Friday afternoon November 15.

“We need concrete things,” he said. Everything we talked about last winter, here in Haute-Vienne, and like throughout , we got nothing. We didn't see any differences, our lives didn't change. It's still so complicated. And if Mercosur is implemented, our death is assured. »

As the CR press release suggested, “targeted” actions are then to be expected.

The rest of the week

The Peasant Confederation 87 indicates, for its part, that actions will be put in place from Wednesday/weekend in Haute-Vienne.
