The journey runs until 2028 and will land in 110 countries except the United States. Entrance ticket: $255,999.
“Skip Forward” is the name found by the American cruise line Villa Vie Residences for its offer promising to escape Donald Trump’s new mandate in the United States.
Passengers who have this desire to escape will be able to board the Villa Vie Odyssey for a journey that can span four years, until the end of 2028, the year of the next American presidential election.
The idea: “escape traffic jams, politics and the monotony of urban life,” a spokesperson explains to Business Insider.
On the program, 110 countries visited, 425 ports of call on the seven continents, with the notable exception of the United States. But escaping from reality comes at a steep price. The entry ticket is set at $255,999 and goes up to $319,998.
Specialist in perpetual cruises
For this price (the price of a 30 square meter apartment in Paris), everything is obviously included: meals, beer and wine, activities, excursions… For those who want to escape only for half the term, Villa Vie Odyssey offers the “Mid-Term” version for 150 to 187,000 dollars. The ship can carry around a hundred passengers.
The company, known for its long-distance cruises, hopes to ride on the desire (all theoretical) displayed by many Americans to leave their country if Donald Trump was elected. After the Republican's victory, Google searches for “moving to Canada” skyrocketed.
But the company is also known for having made passengers wait for four months in Belfast, Ireland, for one of its other perpetual cruises aboard the same ship.
The Odyssey should have left the Northern Irish port last May, but was delayed due to various repairs and other administrative problems. He didn't leave until October.
