The ONMT and Ryanair are committed to the development of the Dakhla destination.
A strategic agreement was established in this sense on Wednesday, in the presence of Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy aimed at launching new direct air links linking the city of Dakhla to main European source markets.
“The opening of these two new Ryanair airlines to Dakhla marks a crucial step in our tourism development strategy for this exceptional destination. This is a strong signal of our commitment to strengthen its connectivity and propel it onto the global tourism scene,” assures the minister.
The first stage of this agreement, the launch, from January 2025, of two new routes connecting Dakhla airport to Madrid in Spain and Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, at a rate of two frequencies per week. Through this launch, Ryanair will become the fourth ONMT partner to open a direct international route to Dakhla, after Royal Air Maroc, Binter Canarias and Transavia.
These new routes will double the airport’s current international capacity, bringing the offer to nearly 47,000 seats. They will also make Spain the leading source market to Dakhla, ahead of France.
