Are you a loyal Picard customer? Company victim of data leak, thousands of people affected

After the cyberattack at Free, it is Picard's turn to be the victim of a data leak. This incident may have led to a “loss of confidentiality” of data available on loyalty accounts.

The frozen food company Picard announced to 45,000 customers of its loyalty program that they had been the victim of a data leak, reports in particular The Digital Factory.

Picard detected “unauthorized access” by a third party, without intrusion into its information systems, as specified to its customers by email.

The hackers were able to access the names, first names, date of birth, email address, postal address, telephone number, loyalty card number, reduction vouchers/possible advantages, order history, receipts as well as the list of purchases and product favorites, list The Parisian. Banking information “are not compromised”specifies the brand.

Change password

Measures were deployed following this cyberattack to strengthen system protection. Customers are recommended to change their password.

The hackers allegedly accessed customer information by logging into their account. They would have used the technique of “credential stuffing” namely trying thousands of combinations of passwords and identifiers to access a protected space.

Reported to the CNIL

This attack was notified to the National Commission for Information Technology and Liberties (CNIL).

In recent weeks, data leaks have continued in : Boulanger, Cultura, Truffaut, SFR, etc. have been particularly affected.
