Elon Musk will not be Donald Trump’s minister. But he doesn’t lose out; he will lead, jointly with another Republican businessman, Vivek Ramaswamy, a new Department of Government Effectiveness, whose acronym – Doge – refers, facetiously, to Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency often praised by the Tesla boss , X and Space
The job is serious. This new department “will provide advice and guidance from outside of government” with the aim of “dismantling government bureaucracy, slashing excessive regulations, cutting unnecessary spending and restructuring federal agencies,” explained the president-elect.
And the deadline has already been set for July 4, 2026, on the occasion of the 250e anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
“We are not going to take it easy,” promised Vivek Ramaswamy, who was a candidate in the Republican primary before withdrawing in mid-January to support Donald Trump.
