Press release – From November 11 to 22, 2024, thousands of young people from elementary to university from the 17 regions of Quebec will participate in the Entrepreneur Week at School. On the program, classroom lectures hosted voluntarily by hundreds of entrepreneurs to inspire the development of the entrepreneurial spirit of young people on the occasion of Global Entrepreneurship Week.
“The entrepreneurial spirit is a state of mind who is willing to perceive a need, imagine a solution and act to make it a reality. It is expressed in entrepreneurship, but also in the personal, family, school, academic, professional and civic spheres. It helps young people to flourish, to be more motivated at school and even to discover “superpowers” by carrying out entrepreneurial projects! », Menon Théberge, president and CEO of OSEntreprendre.
Annick Coulombe, a teacher at Amos Secondary School in the Harricana School Service Center, had the experience last year: “The visit stimulated my students for whom the academic motivation is difficult. Talking with an entrepreneur made them understand that everything is possible, despite the pitfalls. »
At the same time, the entrepreneur-speakers are sometimes surprised by the impact of their meeting, as Katryne Delisle of L’Atelier Paysan recounts: “When I was at school, we valued linear paths. By participating in Entrepreneur Week at school, I wanted to show young people that we can take detours and focus on what makes our color. »
