Marrakech: a human rights observatory threatens to take legal action due to the waste of public money on disparate work

The local coordinator of the National Observatory for the Fight against Corruption and Protection of Public Money in Marrakech received a denial from the head of the Guéliz district, who exonerated him from any responsibility regarding the paving work underway in certain areas under the influence of the district, taking into account an article published on an Internet site which denounces “suspicions” of management of paving works under the influence of the Glaze district, particularly in the Hay Mohammadi district.

The local coordination of the National Observatory for the Fight against Corruption and Protection of Public Money in Marrakech denounced these actions and behaviors adopted by certain advisors belonging to the party leading the Community of Marrakech.

The coordination of the National Observatory for the fight against corruption and protection of public funds asked the governor to inquire about the subject of this work and to find out who bears responsibility for this chaos which is taking place at the level of collective management in Marrakech, in accordance with what is authorized by organic law. 14/113 relating to communities and districts, in particular article 115, which gives it the power to supervise the administrative work of collective councils.

The coordination committee considered that there are alleys which are priorities because they will bring added value to the Mohammadi District and the city of Marrakech, such as for example the alley separating the Abou Abbas al-Sabti and Ibn Sina high schools. , the “Seen”. group of buildings, or Abu Obaida al-Jarrah Alley, which connects Allal al-Fassi Street and Mohamed Habib al-Farqani Street.

The National Observatory for the Fight against Corruption and the Protection of Public Money has threatened, if the responsible authorities do not intervene, to go to court to file a complaint for waste of public money.
