On Thursday, in accordance with the High Directives of King Mohammed VI, expressed during his speech on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the Green March, the head of the Moroccan government, Aziz Akhannouch, led a meeting on the implementation of the Royal Vision aimed at transforming the management of the affairs of the Moroccan community living abroad.
At the start of this meeting, Mr. Akhannouch recalled the broad outlines of the Royal Speech, which sets the foundations of this ambitious reform. This restructuring project includes the institutional reorganization of the “Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad” as well as the creation of “the Mohammedia Foundation of Moroccans Living Abroad”. Mr. Akhannouch stressed that the government took the Royal Guidelines seriously and mobilized the necessary resources to ensure the success of this reform, according to a press release from the Department of the Head of Government.
The head of government assured that “the government is committed to implementing this Royal Vision with rigor and speed, by adopting a series of measures aimed at guaranteeing the coordination and convergence of the responsibilities of the institutions responsible for the affairs of Moroccans around the world. , thus meeting the new needs of the Moroccan diaspora.”
During this meeting, participants explored several initiatives aimed at strengthening cultural and spiritual ties between members of the Moroccan community abroad and their homeland. Among the priorities discussed were the simplification and digitalization of administrative and judicial procedures, support for skills and talents, as well as the encouragement of investments in the Kingdom, in line with the incentives of the new investment charter.
Among the personalities present at this meeting were representatives of different ministries, including the Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, and other key members of the government, illustrating the multi-sectoral commitment to the implementation of this Royal Vision.
Following this first meeting, Mr. Akhannouch announced that a series of meetings would be held in the coming weeks in order to continue efforts to implement this Royal Vision, in particular to complete the restructuring of the “Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad” and the creation of the “Mohamedia Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad”. This process aims to ensure coordinated and convergent management of actions in favor of Moroccans living abroad, while responding to the changing expectations and needs of this dynamic community.
