Rabat – His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to Mr. Donald J. Trump on the occasion of his election, once again, President of the United States of America.
In this message, the Sovereign expresses to Mr. Trump His most sincere congratulations following his election for a new term as President of the United States of America, as well as His best wishes for every success in his high office and in his efforts in the service of the American people.
HM the King underlines that Mr. Trump’s resounding victory in these elections is a recognition of his patriotism and a confirmation of his continued commitment to defending the supreme interests of the United States, “our long-standing friend and ally”.
The Sovereign affirms, in this sense, that the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America are united by a historic alliance and a strategic partnership which have stood the test of time, adding that “the values that we have in sharing and our common interests in a wide range of sectors have enabled us to constantly work together to build a better future for our people, making our relations a driving force in the service of peace, security and prosperity in the Middle East, Africa and beyond”.
In this message, HM the King recalls that during Mr. Trump’s previous mandate, bilateral relations reached an unprecedented level when the United States of America recognized the full sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over the whole of its Sahara, maintaining that this memorable act, for which the Moroccan people will be forever grateful, constituted a milestone and a pivotal moment, which reflects the true depth of “our special and centuries-old relationship, carrying the prospects of even larger and a broader strategic partnership”.
“As we face increasingly complex regional and global challenges, the Kingdom of Morocco will, more than ever, be a true friend and faithful ally of the United States,” writes the Sovereign, reaffirming His firm determination to work together with Mr. Trump to “further promote our common interests and consolidate our unique alliance at all levels of cooperation.”
