Two days after the dramatic fatal accident that occurred in Val-d'Izé (Ille-et-Vilaine) this Sunday, November 3, 2024, the series does not end. Yesterday, Tuesday November 5, three new road accidents affected Vitré and its country.
Three accidents in half a day
At 12:30 p.m., a car ended up on its roof near La Croix-Blanche in Saint-Germain-du-Pinel. Slightly injured, the driver was transported to Vitré hospital by the Argentré-Etrelles firefighters.
At 5:20 p.m., a second road accident occurred on the D794 at a place called Le-Grand-Feu between Vitré and Val-d'Izé. The driver ended up in the ditch after losing control of her vehicle. After intervening on the spot, the firefighters let the young woman leave.
And finally, at 6:45 p.m., a third accident took place at a place called La-Touche-au-Rys, in Erbrée. After hitting the embankment, a vehicle carrying two people ended up in the middle of the road. Among them, only the passenger was slightly injured. Rescued by the Erbrée firefighters, this young man was transported to Vitré hospital. The road was closed during the intervention.

Lack of visibility
All these accidents concern people aged between 18 and 20 years old. If none of them tested positive for alcohol, the reasons for the accidents would often be linked to the lack of visibility caused by the omnipresent fog in recent days. Faced with the repetition of this type of accident, firefighters would like to point out how important it is to adapt your driving to this weather.
