“A more divided America”
From Liège, the tap dancer noticed an exacerbation of tensions in the United States with an ever-increasing fragmentation of society over the years. The division reigns to such an extent that he has lost contact with certain acquaintances who remained in the country. “Since Reagan, there has been an attack on public education. We now have 50 years of ignorance that is now in place in society. The country is so divided that I fear the outcome of the election. If Kamala Harris wins, the risk of civil war is even more pronounced than ever. On the other hand, it is Donald Trump who wins, we are heading straight for disaster!”he fears. “Many Americans are thinking about leaving if Trump wins. My friends have already told me to prepare a room for them at my house!”
For the Democrat at heart, former President Barak Obama embodies a marker. “The Republican Party has become so racist and sexist that it is impossible to discuss with it, unlike in Belgium where all political colors can still talk together. I hope the United States will wake up because Trump is a threat. With him, there is the rise of racism, sexism and extremism.”
