Dakar, Nov 4 (APS) – Former Senegalese Minister of Finance and Budget, Mamadou Moustapha Ba, died following a short illness on Monday in France, at the age of 59, we learned ‘APS with his family.
He headed this ministerial department from September 17, 2022 to April 2024, after having served as director general of the budget for several years.
Mamadou Moustapha Ba graduated from the former National School of Applied Economics (ENEA) in Dakar – the current Higher School of Applied Economics – in 1991.
After ENEA, he joined the Senegalese public finance administration in the early 1990s, before continuing his studies in Belgium.
Mamadou Moustapha Ba, born in 1965 in Nioro du Rip, in the Kaolack region (center), returned from Belgium with a diploma in development policy and a master’s degree in management and public administration from the University of Antwerp.
He joined the economic and financial cooperation department of the Ministry of Finance in the early 2000s.
Mamadou Moustapha Ba became, in 2007, deputy director of economic and financial cooperation, then director of this division of Senegal’s finance administration, from May 2012 to October 2014.
