The Investigation That Started It All
According to L’Observateur, it all started when Ahmet Ndoye told the investigating gendarmes that his license was in the hands of a police officer after a check. To support his version, he shows a certificate issued by Abdoulaye Sow, a police officer from the 4th district police station in the Medina. In response, the Medina police station decided to launch an internal investigation under the leadership of Commissioner Sarr. The latter conducts an interrogation with his teams, but initially comes up against denials from the agents.
Finally, the bundle of clues ends up converging on Abdoulaye Sow. The Observer reveals that, faced with overwhelming evidence, the agent cracked under the pressure and admitted to having issued the famous certificate… from his home, in Rufisque, at the request of a friend of Ahmet Ndoye. The latter, now on the run, is actively sought by the police.
A confession that sinks in
It was during his interrogation that Abdoulaye Sow confessed, detailing the circumstances of his approach. As reported by L’Observateur, the agent explains that he did not fill in certain fields on the certificate, leaving gray areas. These irregularities, noted by investigators, reinforce the proof of false use of administrative documents. Abdoulaye Sow is then charged with forgery, use of forgery, and complicity.
The Manhunt Continues
While agent Sow awaits his trial, the police are in the middle of a manhunt to find the friend and neighbor of Ahmet Ndoye, involved in the fabrication of this certificate. According to L’Observateur’s sources, this intermediary was geo-located outside Dakar, adding an additional mystery to a case already full of twists and turns.
This affair, far from being a simple news item, reveals a network of complicity which undermines the credibility of the police, shaking the institution in the process. The legal consequences promise to be decisive in restoring the image of the police, in the face of a scandal which is taking on unexpected proportions.
